Research for a Better Tomorrow

Scleroderma Atlantic is devoted to supporting the research efforts that improve care and get us closer to a cure.

As part of our mission, Scleroderma Atlantic is honoured to award research funding that prioritizes a brighter future for the scleroderma community.

The Research Fund

The Scleroderma Atlantic Research Fund is part of our ongoing efforts to encourage and contribute to research initiatives that will benefit those living with scleroderma. This fund supports scientific research that can lead to improvements in the understanding, treatment, and management of scleroderma.

This initiative reflects Scleroderma Atlantic’s long-standing commitment to supporting scientific advancements. It builds on our history of funding research projects, such as our support for the Scleroderma Patient-centered Intervention Network (SPIN).

By investing in research, the fund will enable graduate students, researchers, and institutions to explore the most pressing questions in scleroderma science. Research supported by the fund may include, but is not limited to:

  • Investigations into the underlying causes and mechanisms of scleroderma
  • Clinical trials exploring potential new treatments or therapies
  • Studies focused on improving the quality of life and symptom management
  • Research on early diagnosis and disease progression
  • Projects that explore mental health impacts, fatigue, and pain associated with scleroderma
  • Health services research that seeks to improve care delivery and accessibility

By supporting a wide range of scientific inquiries, this fund aims to foster discoveries that can bring real change to the lives of people affected by this complex and rare disease.
