2025 Summer Student Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic summer intern to assist with a variety of tasks and to gain hands-on experience in event planning, program research & communications. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills, build a resume, and contribute to meaningful projects for a local non-profit organization.

Position Title: Program Assistant
Reports To:  Scleroderma Atlantic Executive Board
Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operations, including maintaining lists and databases; preparing reports and presentations; organizing digital files, among others.
  • Support team members with various projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in virtual weekly team meetings.
  • Conduct research and assemble information/recommendations for the executive board on various programs, such as:
    • Travel Assistance Program
    • Research Program
    • Planned Giving/Leave a Legacy Program
    • Volunteer Program
    • Scleroderma Atlantic Handbook and Board Policies
  • Engage in fieldwork and/or hands-on tasks related to the Make a Move for Scleroderma June Fundraising Campaigns.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisor regarding progress and challenges through weekly check-ins.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned (ongoing)

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, including community college, and returning to studies in Fall 2025.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience in event planning and administrative tasks is an asset but not required.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Job Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must have their own computer and reliable internet access.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.

Duration and Hours:

  • May 20 to July 29, 2025
  • 30 hours per week

Compensation:

$15.70 per hour
