What Is the David Shea Fund?
Scleroderma can lead to unexpected expenses such as costly medications, treatments, and travel to appointments. These expenses can place a significant burden on those living with scleroderma.
Scleroderma Atlantic established the Patient Support and Travel Fund in memory of David Shea to provide financial assistance for those living with scleroderma. Funds can be accessed by providing an application(s) to Scleroderma Atlantic.

Patient Support Fund
Scleroderma comes with plenty of expenses, whether it’s travel, prescriptions, supplements, or anything else in your care plan. This fund covers up to $1,000 per year, per applicant.
Travel Fund
The Travel Assistance Fund provides up to $500 in reimbursement to help eligible applicants cover travel and accommodation costs for scleroderma-related conferences and events, subject to available funding.

The David Shea Fund covers up to $1,000 per calendar year. Depending on your application, some expenses may be covered in full and others partially. You are welcome to submit expenses that exceed $1,000 for partial consideration (e.g., scooters, dental procedures).
